‘You’re going to see’ – Spurs star fires warning to opponents ahead of Premier League return

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has warned their remaining Premier League opponents that they are going to face a strong Harry Kane.

The top flight returns from the coronavirus suspension this week, with Spurs’ first assignment coming against Manchester United on Friday night, a clash in which the England captain is expected to play a prominent role.

Tottenham have struggled this season. One reason for that is a number of senior players haven’t hit top form, and Kane is one of those, although his campaign has been hampered by injury.

The Spurs’ striker has recovered from the problem which sidelined him going into lockdown, and has used the break wisely to come out the other side, and ensure he is fit and raring to go as the Londoners bid to recover a disappointing term to date.

Alderweireld has clearly liked what he has seen from the Tottenham star in training, warning those Jose Mourinho’s charges are due to come up against just what they can expect from their leading scorer.

“In training he looks fully fit, top fit, so we’re going to see the old Kane again,” The Guardian quote him as saying.

“He has been out for a longer period so his desire to show everyone is unbelievable, so you’re going to see a very good Kane.”

Kane notched 11 goals in the Premier League for Tottenham prior to his final appearance before lockdown, which came away to Southampton on the opening day of 2020.

Spurs have really struggled since then, so they will be delighted to have their talisman back as they look to restore something from this disappointing campaign.

If the Belgian defender is anything to go by, not only do Tottenham have their top scorer returning, but they have a man hungry and determined to prove a point, and that could be very dangerous for anyone encountering Mourinho’s men between now and the end of the season.
