Leeds United suffered what could be a huge blow to their automatic promotion chances on Saturday afternoon when they went down 1-0 to Sheffield United, and after the match their supporters were worried about one of their defenders.
The Whites could have taken a big step in their quest for a return to the Premier League, but instead they left the door wide open for the Blades to power through and leave that hope out of their own hands.
Leeds have occupied a spot in the top two of the Championship table for much of the campaign, but they chose the worst possible time to deliver one of their worst performances of the season.
That leaves the Whites needing Sheffield United to slip up between now and the end of the run in to give them a chance of sneaking back into the promotion spots, and avoid having to go through the lottery of the play-offs.
One problem that could be on the horizon for Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds outfit are the increasing injuries and suspensions.
Kiko Casilla was dismissed for the home side in injury time, and he will return from the upcoming international break suspended, but there was a bigger concern than that.
Pontus Jansson looked to pick up a knee injury during the clash with the Blades, and the Whites will be hoping that is not lengthy or significant.
The Sweden international had an eventful afternoon. He began it in the heart of the Leeds defence, before playing as a makeshift striker, and ended the game between the sticks after Casilla was dismissed.
Jansson is a huge figure for the Whites so their fans were understandably concerned about his fitness, when they took to social media after the final whistle against the Blades.
Here are the pick of their messages:

Massive opportunity wasted, so many chances but couldn't finish. Kiko off, Jansson hobbling, couldn't run so in goal, another suspect referee 👊 Hard game to watch, so frustrating, wouldn't be Leeds to get promoted easily. Two weeks to 're-group for next game💔⚽ #MOT #LUFC xx pic.twitter.com/Qpn7xidCUU

Worrying when a player who has been playing CB for most of the season for them is more clinical than your forwards but still one point in it, get Roofe back ASAP and pray Jansson’s knee is okay, still plenty to play for🤞🏻 #lufc

The race for automatic promotion is definitely not over, but now Casilla is out for a game and it looks like jansson will be out with injury – we have the biggest mountain to climb #LUFC

Pontus Jansson needs a statue. Now. Pablo and Marcelo can build it. #lufc

😢the loss is bad enough but the fact we dominated, the injury to Jansson, the red card for Kiko, and the 2 weeks wait until we play again is just not fair. #lufc

Could that have gone any worse for us in the last 15 minutes? Keeper on a ban now and Jansson will probably be out for the rest of the season. Oh and we absolutely deserved a draw at minimum🙃Off to beachy head chaps. Bye👋🏻#LUFC #MOT
