Wolverhampton Wanderers are due to play against Besiktas in a Europa League clash at Vodafone Park on Thursday.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about by performing well in Europe this season. They have so far been under-performing in the Premier League.
Wolves will likely have to make do without the services of Diogo Jota for this game due to a foot injury, as reported by Sky Sports.
The Portugal international also missed the club’s game Watford during the weekend. The Molineux side are in a bit of a sticky situation considering that Jota’s replacement Pedro Neto who started the game against Watford is also a doubt for the Europa League clash.
Bruno Jordao is also reported to be a definite player who will be out for Santo’s Wolves side on Thursday.
The match will be the first competitive game between the two sides.
Besiktas will be the favourites to win the match. If Nuno’s side do end up losing the match, it will not really be a train-smash.
Many Wolves fans will be hoping to see them prioritise the Premier League at this point following their slow start to the season.
Besiktas have a good record against English sides. They are currently unbeaten during their past four home games against English sides in European competition and have managed to keep clean sheets during each of their previous three.
They have however lost their last two games in the Europa League and this is something that Wolves fans can take comfort from.
