Wolverhampton Wanderers are due to face off against Reading in a Football League Cup clash at Molineux on Wednesday.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves team will go into the clash as favourites as they have a better side on paper. However, the Premier League side will be vulnerable at this point.
Wolves have made a poor start to the season and have so far been unable to build upon their impressive English top-flight performances from last term.
Nuno’s side have yet to win a game in the Premier League so far this season. They are currently one of only two teams in the English top division that has yet to win a match in the league, with the other being Watford.
The Midlands club are set to play against the Hornets in the Premier League next weekend and will fancy their chances of securing their first domestic victory of the season against the Vicarage Road side. Hence, it is likely that they may rest players against Reading.
Wolves will likely give attacker Raul Jimenez a much-needed break. As things stand, Romain Saiss is the only player who is confirmed to not play following his red card against Crystal Palace on Sunday, as reported by The Birmingham Mail.
The report added that deputy goalkeeper John Ruddy could be set to be handed a start.
Furthermore, Ryan Bennett and Jesus Vallejo, who were overlooked last weekend, could be set to start in defence along with Connor Coady. The Wolves captain always plays so it is unlikely that he will be rested.
