Chelsea confirmed that they have signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday and a number of fans shared their opinion to the news on social media.
The Blues are thought to have signed the United States of America international for a fee around £57.6million but will remain with the Bundesliga outfit for the second half of the season.
Pulisic is an extremely versatile player who has the ability to play on either wing or he can also operate behind the two strikers.
The deal made the 20-year-old Chelsea’s second most-expensive transfer for an outfield player, with Alvaro Morata still at the top of that list.
Pulisic has earned a host of rave reviews during his short career already and is a player that would certainly get many excited.
The youngster has lit the Bundesliga up with his performances for Dortmund and saw a number of Europe’s top clubs allegedly take an interest in him.
However, going by the views of some Chelsea fans on Twitter, there appears to be a mixed reaction to his acquisition.
Some supporters questioned whether the Blues actually needed him in the first place, with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi waiting in the wings.
Other Blues fans could not understand why he would remain on loan with Dortmund and would rather have him in the team at Stamford Bridge immediately.
However, some of the Chelsea faithful were understandably delighted to have beaten others to capture Pulisic’s signature and were excited to see what the American could bring to west London.
Here are some of those reactions:

Great signing, young innovative and skilled player. I highly hope that he's not a replacement for @hazardeden10. Could use both of them in that field. It'll be an anxious rest of the season waiting to see who leaves now and hoping @hazardeden10 extends his stay with us.

this club is run by clowns? he wasn't even playing there, why loan him back? they have even less incentive to play him now , we just gave them 60m and some emergency squad depth, when WE NEED WINGERS

So we've signed pulisic for 58M. Overrated american. let me wish Hudson Odoi all the best. he doesn't deserve this dumb club.

Honestly, it’s hard to see why people are mad about signing #Pulisic . He’s one of the most exciting young talents and has experience at the top level. Sure he’s not the finished article yet, but going after talent like that I think it shows ambition.

Pulisic was not my first choice to be bought on the right but he is here now and hopefully its an awesome signing. Not a replacement for Hazard or CHO. Let's sign a couple more I think we need a more experienced right winger though. #Chelsea #Transfers #Pulisic #Hazard

Imagine wasting 40m on pulisic when that could have been used to find a striker. Odoi is 100% better and has better prospects of being a world class. #marinaOut Those in London attending games should have a banner #marinaout #morataout even Alonso.
