West Ham United could be set for a major boost as the trio of Manuel Lanzini, Jack Wilshere and Winston Reid could be set to return to competitive action soon, according to reliable source Knees up Mother Brown.
Lanzini has yet to play a game for the Hammers this season after he sustained an injury while training with the Argentina national team squad ahead of their World Cup campaign.
Prior to his injury, the 25-year-old was viewed as arguably the best player within the West Ham squad. He is also capable of tormenting any Premier League defence on a good day.
The report added that Lanzini has privately said that he hopes to return to training ahead of the club’s final ten fixtures of the season. Having him in the West Ham squad would certainly significantly improve the club’s chances of securing a strong finish on the top half of the standings this term.
Wilshere and Reid are also expected to return to light Hammers training in the near future, added the report.
Reid has been a key part of the West Ham defence for the past few years and is a very experienced member of the squad, so his addition will also be a huge boost.
Wilshere, meanwhile, arrived at the London Stadium during the summer after his contract with Arsenal came to an end and was not renewed. The England international is very injury prone and signing him was always going to be a risk for West Ham.
However, on his day he can be one of the most effective players in the top-flight. While signing him was a risk for West Ham, it was a worthwhile risk, especially as he has yet to reach the peak of his career.
