Zuber is reportedly worth £8.6 million and West Ham will face competition for his signature from Juventus, Valencia and Sevilla.
However, Hoffenheim want the Switzerland international to stay at the club for a possible Champions League campaign next season, as they currently occupy fourth spot in the league.
Zuber started his career at Grasshopper in his home country where 21 goals in 119 games earned him a big move to CSKA Moscow in 2013.
The winger failed to live up to expectations in Russia, scoring once in 29 games before his transfer to Hoffenheim in the summer of 2014.
If West Ham do sign Zuber, it is unclear whether he will be operated as a left-back or as a left-midfielder but he would be comfortable with either.
