West Ham United and Leicester City are ready to make approaches for out-of-favour Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho, according to The Mirror.

The France international defender has fallen foul of Jurgen Klopp and has not appeared in the Premier League for the Reds this season.

With the likes of Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klaven ahead of him in the pecking order, Sakho’s future looks like it will be away from Anfield.

As such, it would be a surprise if the former Paris Saint-Germain star did not leave Merseyside during the January transfer window.

West Ham have had a lukewarm start to the new season and have been playing midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate at the back on occasions in 2016-17.

Leicester meanwhile are not as watertight as last term and could look to bolster their defensive options at the next opportunity.

Sakho has shown that he is an able and capable defender both in the Premier League and international football, but the Frenchman looks to have burned his bridges at Liverpool.
