West Ham United will make a 9 million offer for Hull City centre-half Harry Maguire in an attempt to sign the defender before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, according to The Sun.

The Hammers were involved in a protracted saga to land Robert Snodgrass from the Tigers, but finally landed their man on Friday in a 10 million deal.

The Scotland international joins Jose Fonte as a new addition to Slaven Bilic’s squad this month, but it appears that the ambitious London Stadium outfit’s transfer business is not yet done.

The report suggests that West Ham are eager to land another defender in the next few days and have been impressed with Maguire’s performances at the KCOM Stadium of late.

Angelo Ogbonna is out for the remainder of the season and as such Bilic has limited options at the back, especially if he wants to play three centre-halves.

Hull manager Marco Silva will surely be reluctant to let his defender leave the club, but with financial problems for the club off the pitch, West Ham’s offer may well be too good to refuse.
