The 33-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in England at the moment after winning Euro 2016 over the summer with Portugal.
The centre-back joined the South Coast side in 2010 and has been part of a squad that has led the club from League One to the top flight in the three seasons since he arrived.
Slaven Bilic has apparently registered his interest in the player as he looks to strengthen his back line, which has conceded 35 goals in the Premier League so far this season.
West Ham face competition from Everton and Crystal Palace in the fight to acquire the defender’s services.
With Fonte clearly wanting to move on, it seems it will be a case of who can offer him the best deal as it is obvious he is not short of suitors
