The latest report suggests that Tony Pulis’ men want to pull off a shock move for the Portuguese battler and bring him to The Hawthorns.
William is a sold midfield enforcer with an excellent range of passing and good reading of the game, with the Baggies fans right to get excited should he pen a deal with West Brom.
Sporting do not have to sell as they are currently cash-rich following their deal to offload Joao Mario to Inter Milan for a cool €45 million.
Tony Pulis has been vocal this summer in his belief that West Brom need new players but as yet there has not been much to shout about for the Baggies supporters in the transfer market.
