Aston Villa defender Joonas Sundman has confirmed his departure from the club in a message on Twitter.
The Finnish centre-half, who can also play on the left of the defence, leaves without ever having made a first-team appearance for the side he joined as a 16-year-old.

Sundman is the latest of the under-23 squad announce his exit from Villa Park on Twitter, with forward Jerell Sellars also revealing earlier this month that he would be moving on.
Manager Steve Bruce told the Birmingham Mail at the end of April that there would likely be a number of players on their way out of the club this summer as he looks to trim down those at his disposal.
Sundman’s announcement comes as little surprise; he was involved in seven of Villa’s opening eight under-23 league matches of the campaign but has not featured for the development side since late October.
The 19-year-old noted that injuries have played their part in restricting his involvement over the past three years and suggested that he would not be staying in England.
After a poor season in the Championship which ended in a 13th-placed finish, Villa are now in the process of building for a promotion push next term.
