Turkish side Galatasaray are believed to be interested in signing Leicester City attacker Shinji Okazaki in January, according to the Leicester Mercury.
The Japan international will always hold a place in the hearts of the Foxes fans after he was a part of their Premier League winning squad, but since that season he has found it more and more difficult to get a regular slice of the action.
The 32-year-old has made just six appearances this term, and the only time he has been involved from the start has been in the Carabao Cup, as Claude Puel has chosen to utilise James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho to support Jamie Vardy.
The Japanese attacker arrived at the King Power Stadium from Mainz in the summer of 2015, when Claudio Ranieri took him to the midlands. His impact was massive, as his partnership with the England international up front took Leicester to heights that nobody thought was possible.
Okazaki is out of contract at the end of the season so Galatasaray, and any other club who may be interested in his services, would be able to pick him up on a free transfer as the forward is unlikely to be offered a new deal, with Puel focused on driving through a much younger squad moving forward.
It would appear that the Turkish giants will not wait until the summer to sign the Japan international though, and talks are believed to be underway for a move to take place in January, with a fee in the region of £1.75 million being rumoured.
That would appear to be a little cheap for a man who still has plenty to give, but with Okazaki no better than fourth choice, and with others jostling below him for a spot in the side, it would make sense for the Foxes to cash in on him while they still can.
