Liverpool are set to offer attacking midfielder Adam Lallana a new £120,000 per week contract to stave off interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Express.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino knows the gifted playmaker well from their mutual time at Southampton and the North London side have been linked with a move for the England international on a number of occasions in the past.
Tottenham have already raided the former Saints trainer’s old club for the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama, with Lallana certainly fitting into the blueprint that the Argentine has for his players.
The Englishman has been in excellent form at Anfield this season and is a crucial player for Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing side.
Tottenham have a host of attacking midfielders at their disposal currently, with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli the pick of a talented bunch.
However, most of the White Hart Lane faithful would surely welcome someone of Lallana’s calibre at the club, even if a deal to sign the England international looks difficult to complete.
The report states that Liverpool are confident of their star man extending his time on Merseyside, while Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be a suitor of the 28-year-old.
