A gifted free-kick taker, creative talent and goalscoring threat from midfield, 22-year-old Calhanoglu is being tipped to have a massively bright future in the game and has been linked to a number of major European teams in the past.
The star’s agent Beytas Demirtas has admitted that there has been an inquiry for his client.
“It is true that Tottenham have registered their interest with me,” The Mirror report the representative as saying.
Spurs currently have plenty of attacking midfielders, including Calhanoglu’s former Leverkusen team-mate Son Heung-min, who is being linked with an exit from the North London club.
The German-born star’s best position is behind a central striker but he has proven that can also be a driving force from wide areas also.
Calhanoglu linked with Atletico Madrid and Spurs in the same day. This has the look of someone wanting a new contract to me.
