Tottenham Hotspur are ready to announce that essential centre-half Jan Vertonghen is the latest player to sign a new contract with the North London club, according to The Mirror.
The White Hart Lane side have a project building under Mauricio Pochettino, with a raft of first-team regulars penning new deals with the Premier League outfit over the last six months.

Despite question marks over the feasibility of new deals for the likes of Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane, other squad members such as Christian Eriksen, Kyle Walker, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and Dele Alli have committed to Spurs.
Vertonghen has been an important member of a Spurs defence that has become impressively miserly under Pochettino, with the Belgian forming an excellent partnership with compatriot Toby Alderweireld.
With his countryman injured over the last month, the former Ajax star has stepped up to the plate and been in superb form for Tottenham.
A new and improved deal would be just rewards for Vertonghen and represent another boost for the White Hart Lane side.
