Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek says he is interested in moving to England – which has alerted Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT.
The 22-year-old has had a fine season Johan Cryuff Arena, scoring 17 times and providing 13 assists as the Eredivisie side claimed the domestic league and cup double.
With a burgeoning reputation, van de Beek has been attracting interest from clubs across Europe with Tottenham possibly eyeing a move for the attacking midfielder.
Spurs had first-hand experience of the playmaker’s abilities in the Champions League semi-finals, with the star scoring against Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the first leg.
Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT that the midfielder’s agent has confirmed that van de Beek is interested in a move to England and would be well suited to playing for a team like Tottenham.
“Donny van de Beek has his eyes set on the Premier League,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on Monday.
“I think he’s a proper Premier League player – he’s got a big tank, he’s got the education from Ajax, he can play in more positions in midfield.
“I think he’s got his eyes set on a club like Man United or Tottenham Hotspur.
“I’ve been talking to his agent, and he said if that would materialise it would be something right up his street.”
Spurs are looking to strengthen after reaching their first Champions League final, with Pochettino urging the club to make the next step.
With doubts over Christian Eriksen’s future, van de Berk could be an ideal summer signing for Tottenham.
