Top five hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to secure back to back Premier League victories when they face off against relegation candidates Bournemouth at Dean Court on Wednesday. The Lilywhites bounced back from their defeat to Sheffield United with a gritty 1-0 win against Everton on Monday. The win was not the most attractive but it added a valuable three points to their tally nonetheless.
A win for Jose Mourinho’s side will close the gap between themselves and fourth place Leicester City to just six points. Tottenham are set to rest Giovani Lo Celso for the game after the midfielder completed 90 minutes across three different games, according to The Independent. Eric Dier will also miss out after being slapped with a four game ban. Mourinho will also have to make do without the services of Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga due to injury.
Bournemouth is in the relegation zone and has lost their last five consecutive league games. Their most recent defeat saw them being thrashed 5-2 by Manchester United. Eddie Howe’s sides form has not improved much since the league resumed and they desperately need wins now if they want to avoid the drop.
Mourinho’s side has been inconsistent this season but they have a perfect opportunity to get three points and increase their confidence. Bournemouth is very vulnerable at the moment. Spurs boss Mourinho will be familiar with dealing with teams that are vulnerable and for that reason, Spurs will have to go down as the pre-match favourites.
