Mauricio Pochettino has delivered an update on the fitness of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, insisting his ankle problem is a ‘chronic injury’.
Spurs corespondent Ben Pearce revealed the information via Twitter, quoting from his pre-match press conference when asked about the youngster.
Pochettino said that Winks will have to ‘accept that he needs to play with this little bit of pain’.

The 22-year-old underwent surgery on his ankle in May but it seems he will need to play through the pain if he is to become a Tottenham regular.
Winks has only featured for a total of six minutes in the opening three fixtures this season, but did make 25 appearances last year.
A product of the Spurs academy, he has racked up 64 appearances in total but if he is to build on that number it will be a big physical test.
