Sunderland are set to fight newly promoted Hull City for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason, with The Mirror claiming that the North London club are willing to sell the England international for £8 million.
The box-to-box man is facing an uncertain future at White Hart Lane following the summer arrival of Victor Wanyama, which leaves him as a fringe player in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
Mason has Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele ahead of him in the pecking order at Spurs, while Dele Alli can also drop deeper to play in the boiler room also.

It is believed that Hull are keen on the central midfielder, but David Moyes is also interested in the star.
Ironically Mason’s fall from grace at Tottenham came at Sunderland last season, where he rounded off an excellent team move to score the winning goal but got injured in the process.
By the time that the Englishman was available again for Spurs, other players had jumped ahead of him in Pochettino’s preferences.
If Mason was to be sold for his £8 million asking price, Tottenham will have recuperated over £20 million for the midfielder and Nacer Chadli combined.
