Tottenham Hotspur’s players have jetted out to Spain for a warm weather training camp in Barcelona, reports The Daily Mail.
Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side lost 2-1 to Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday and now find themselves 12 points adrift of second-placed Liverpool.
With Tottenham’s title challenge realistically over, their goals are to progress in the Champions League and hold off Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea to qualify again next season.
However, Spurs are without a Premier League victory since beating Leicester City on February 10.
Tottenham were originally due to be back in action this weekend but their game against Crystal Palace has been rescheduled with the Eagles playing in the FA Cup against Watford.
And with no other matches until the end of the month – thanks in part to their early exit from the same competition – Spurs have enough time to leave the country and train in a warmer environment.
The Mail reports that players were spotted arriving in Barcelona, claiming that Pochettino is using the trip in a bid to stop their season unravelling.
Spurs were as high as second in the table following their 5-0 hammering of Bournemouth on Boxing Day but have slipped back since, allowing Liverpool and Manchester City to turn the title battle into a two-horse race.
They travel to both the Citizens and the Reds before the end of the season, making their task of holding on to a top-four place challenging – particularly as United are resurgent under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
