Tottenham Hotspur have had a busy summer transfer window so far.
The Lilywhites have already signed Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, while Timo Werner has re-joined the club on another season-long loan.
But the North Londoners’ main priority is to trim the squad and offload unwanted players.
They have already released Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Japhet Tanganga, Ryan Sessegnon and Tanguy Ndombele, and now they are also looking to sell Emerson Royal.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 25-year-old has his heart set on joining AC Milan in the ongoing transfer window.
He has a contract in North London until 2026 but Spurs are prepared to let him leave for a fee around £16.8 million.
Milan lodged an initial £12.4m bid for the right-back that was turned down by the Premier League outfit.
Royal joined Spurs in the summer of 2021 and he has gone on to make over 100 appearances across all competitions, with six goal contributions to his name.
But he is clearly not in the plans of manager Ange Postecoglou and so a summer exit is looking very likely.
The 25-year-old insisted in a recent interview that he wants to play regularly and doesn’t want to sit on the bench.
His eagerness to join Milan could force Tottenham to settle for a lower fee from the Italians.
