Tottenham Hotspur have continued a busy September of extending a host of their top players’ contracts, with Kyle Walker penning a new five-year deal with the ambitious North London club.

The tenacious defender has been with the White Hart Lane side since joining from Sheffield United back in 2009 and has made the right-back slot his own over recent years.

The England international has not always been flavour of the month with the Spurs fans, but a general consensus is that the defender has been much-improved since Mauricio Pochettino’s arrival at the club.

Walker’s lung-busting runs forward are a prominent feature of Tottenham’s attacking play, while his pace has proved vital in defensive positions also.

The Englishman follows in the footsteps of a host of his team-mates in committing to a new deal, with the likes of Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen also extending their contracts in recent times.

Spurs fans were happy to hear the news of Walker’s new deal and took to Twitter to express their feelings after the official announcement.
