Tottenham Hotspur were starring down the barrel yesterday at the Hawthorns at 1-0 down to West Brom, but a late Dele Alli goal salvaged a point for the North London side.
Despite most of the travelling faithful viewing the fixture as two points lost given Mauricio Pochettino’s side dominance in the first half, there is a bigger problem in the eyes of the Spurs fans.

Key defender Toby Alderweireld was stretchered off in the second half with what looked like a serious knee injury, after clashing with team-mate Jan Vertonghen as the side looked to defend a Baggies cross.
The Belgium international has been the cornerstone of a Tottenham side that has only conceded four goals in eight Premier League games this season and is undoubtedly one of the team’s most-important players.
Alderweireld now appears to be facing a prolonged stint on the sidelines and will certainly miss the Londoners’ visit to face Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The former Southampton loanee’s importance to the White Hart Lane side is showcased in just how worried the club’s fans are after his injury.
Here are the best tweets from the Spurs supporters following Alderweireld’s blow.
Some may look at the draw being the worse part of today but loss of Toby Alderweireld potentially is more damaging than this result.#THFC

Tottenham now have just a 6% chance of avoiding relegation following Toby Alderweireld’s injury

Tottenham’s 5 best players are Toby Alderweireld, Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele, Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose. They’ve all been injured. Unbeaten.

Still unbeaten but tbh I’m more concerned about Alderweireld’s injury than the 2 dropped points.

If Alderweireld’s injury is a bad one it could be a big moment in Tottenham’s season. Their best defender.

Alderweireld seems to have picked up a bad knee injury. I’m not one to panic but the season is over and we may as well fold the club now.

Toby Alderweireld on a stretcher. I’ve never seen something so horrifying in my entire life, I want to cry

I don’t care. Forget the new stadium, Alderweireld is bigger than this club
