Tottenham Hotspur recorded a 2-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday in a fitting farewell to White Hart Lane.

The result means that Spurs have confirmed a second-place Premier League finish and are unbeaten at home this season.

Mauricio Pochettino raised a few eyebrows with his team selection for the clash with United, as Kieran Trippier was again selected ahead of Kyle Walker at right-back.

Speculation over the England international’s future at Tottenham has been rife in recent weeks, with talk that the former Sheffield United defender’s head has been turned and he wants to leave this summer.

Trippier has progressed well since moving to Spurs from Burnley and clearly has the ability to thrive in the Premier League.

However, the full-back was suspect in United’s goal, with Anthony Martial beating him easily to centre for Wayne Rooney to score.

Walker came on as Trippier got injured after a heavy fall in the second half, with the replacement looking much more adept at dealing with the French attacker’s threat.

The Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their views on the right-back pairing, with the majority stating that the elder statesman is the superior of the two players.
