Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their verdict on new signing Moussa Sissoko after the attacking midfielder got his first start as a Spurs player in the 1-0 win over Sunderland on Sunday.
The former Newcastle United man has already split opinion among the White Hart Lane faithful, with plenty of supporters questioning the logic behind signing a player that has just been relegated for £30 million.
3 points get in a great atmosphere, thanks to all the fans ! #COYS #THFC pic.twitter.com/ObLGR4LGg3

Sissoko’s comments in the past about wanting to join Arsenal mean that he has work to do to win over the Spurs fans.
The France international put in an industrious performance against Sunderland but lacked a little bit of quality in the final third when he found himself in promising positions.
Sissoko’s physical attributes are clearly one of his main strengths and his presence in the Spurs squad gives Mauricio Pochettino a different option in wide areas.
The Spurs fans appear divided in their opinion of the French star, with some impressed with his work-rate and performance in the victory over David Moyes’ men.
However, others were not taken by Sissoko in his first start, with the most damning critiques seeing the new man compared to former Tottenham players Paulinho and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Here are the best tweets.
Euros & today alone proves putting Sissoko in a team with real genuine quality brings out the best in him, typical Poch player. #COYS#THFC

We have been crying out for depth and todays team got the job done. Son outstanding. Sissoko was decent, could have been more direct #COYS

Sissoko played good, can preform much better but to get best out of him he needs to be in a 3 man mid not out wide #THFC #COYS

But Sissoko did well today, great to finally see a player that doesn't mind trying to beat the fullback #COYS

Sissoko was a solid 7/10 today. Bit of pace about him, likes to take a player on #thfc #Coys

A not-so-good performance by Sissoko & Wanyama for me. Sissoko's crosses were awful. And Wanyama played some misplaced pass. #COYS

Also thought Sissoko had a good home debut. Got chalk on his boots and worked hard. Everything poch would of wanted #THFC #COYS

Think Sissoko has done alright but you can see frustration of likes of Kane and Alli when he doesn't find them like Eriksen/Lamela would.

Sissoko is good until final quarter and extra quality needed. Then it goes wrong. #COYS
