Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a €9 million (£7.8 million) deal to sign rising star Cengiz Under from Basaksehir, according to Turkish radio station Radyospor.
The 19-year-old is a versatile forward that has taken the Super Lig by storm in 2016-17, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in his first campaign in his homeland’s top flight.
Under’s performances at club level have led to a call-up to the Turkey national side, with the teenager scoring once in two senior caps for his country.
Tottenham are expected to be busy this summer recruiting new players as the Premier League side look to fight for major silverware next season and compete in the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino is famed for his desire to work with young players that have potential and turn them into household names.
Under would certainly fit the bill in this regard and the youngster’s ability to play as either a winger or a second striker will appeal to Tottenham.
Spurs finished second in the Premier League in 2016-17 and have a young squad determined to progress together under Pochettino.
