Champions League 2019-20: The favourites for European glory

Place your bets! Which team is going to win the Champions League in 2020? Here is a look at the current odds-favourites.

Manchester City

With so much domestic success this season, Manchester City are hoping to add to it with European glory. At present, City is 11/4 favourites to win this year’s Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s team has won the Premier League for the last two seasons. But City has not gone beyond the Champions League quarter-finals in the previous three tournaments. So, the team is hoping to reclaim some dignity this year. A recent 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the 16th round means Man City now have to face the team again in the second leg.

Bayern Munich

The German team Bayern Munich currently has odds of 7/2 to win the Champions League. The team has won Bundesliga seven times in a row and got to at least the semi-finals of the Champions League over five of those seasons. Bayern Munich has already won it once, and with games like the side’s stunning 7-2 victory over Tottenham in the second group match, Munich is showing they are still in top form this year. After an impressive 3-0 win against Chelsea in the first leg of the 16th round, Bayern Munich will take on the Blues again on 18th March.

While you wait for the next match, why not get in the mood by playing online football video games? There is a wide range of different types of games available. One of the best football slots games is Football Star. With free spins, Stacked Wilds, and other great game features, you will love playing Football Star. You can find it, and a fantastic array of casino games, at Casumo.

Liverpool

The Reds are hoping to defend their title and win the trophy for the seventh time this season. And they look like they have a very good chance of doing so. However, although Liverpool has current odds of 7/1, the team did lose 1-0 in their last Champions League match against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the 16th round. The Reds are sure to put up a fight when they face Madrid again on 11th March.

Barcelona

Barcelona has not won the Champions League since 2015. But the team has a fairly good chance of getting to the final this year, and even winning the title again. This season has seen Barcelona put in one of the most consistent Champions League performances in a long time. However, in the first round of the 16th leg, Barcelona did draw against Napoli 1-1. The two teams face each other again on 18th March. Barcelona is currently backed at 7/1 to win the Champions League, tied with Liverpool’s chances.

Odds of the underdogs

There is always a chance that one of the tournament’s underdogs could win the Champions League Cup yet. Paris Saint-Germain has current odds of 10/1 to win their first Champions League title. The team has won numerous domestic titles, but PSG has never made it past the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Indeed, in the last three seasons, PSG has not got past the last 16. With a pretty impressive performance this season, PSG could get further in the tournament than previously expected.

Juventus is another team with an outside chance of winning the competition. The team made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League last year, but they lost to Ajax. Could this be the year that Juventus go all the way to the final? It may not be the most likely outcome, but it is possible. Currently, Juventus have odds of 12/1.

RB Leipzig is 20/1 to win the tournament, in only the team’s second-ever attempt. The squad lost only one of their six matches on their way towards topping Group G.
