BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has picked three Everton players and two West Ham stars in his Premier League team of the week.

The Toffees went to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City on Saturday, putting in a valiant performance to record a worthy 1-1 draw against the current league leaders.

Crooks has selected goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, defender Ashley Williams and forward Romelu Lukaku in his Premier League contingent of the week.

The Dutch goalkeeper was mercurial in keeping Pep Guardiola’s side at bay and the Welsh defender put in another strong performance to ensure Everton are not missing John Stones.

Lukaku scored the opening goal to reconfirm his status as one of the division’s most-predatory attackers.

Meanwhile, West Ham recorded a morale-boosting 1-0 win over London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday evening to ease pressure on Slaven Bilic.

Crooks selected defenders Aaron Cresswell and Winston Reid for his side after the victory at Selhurst Park.

The left-back was making his first Premier League appearance of the season after returning from injury and put in an assured performance – before being contentiously sent off.

Reid was an integral man for the Hammers last season and show signs that he is getting back to his best by neutralising Christian Benteke.
