Everton were beaten 3-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
Things did not start off well for The Toffees when Gabriel Jesus managed to find the opener to leave Marco Silva’s side going into the half-time break a goal behind.
The Brazil international then managed to double the hosts lead before Everton could finally get themselves back into the game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin managed to reduce the deficit momentarily before Raheem Sterling ensured the Toffees would be returning to Goodison Park empty-handed.
Although many would not have been expecting to have got a result against a City side that had been looking to get back to winning ways, fans will have been disappointed with the result.
With a large number of them taking to Twitter to vent their frustrations, Everton’s Yerry Mina appeared to come in for a lot of criticism for his display.
The Colombia international, who arrived from Barcelona in the summer, the defender appeared to struggle to contain the likes of Jesus at the best of times.
Fans slammed him for his performance, with one going as far as to say it was a ‘disastrous’ showing, with others simply calling him ‘awful’.
Here are some of the Everton supporter’s reactions:
Yerry mina was disastrous

Not at all impressed with Yerry Mina. Zouma and Keane the better partnership.
Sigurdsson struggling for form at the moment

I hate judging players so early but Yerry Mina just seems like another Ramiro Funes Mori but about 10 times more mental

Yerry Mina at fault for all 3 goals today, fair enough that everyone has a bad game now and again. But at the final whistle laughing with Jesus, not on that. 3000 evertonians spent hard earned cash to watch that, he should be hurting and dissapointed not laughing.

#EFC have had more than enough chances to make a real game of this but yet again we’re not clinical enough. Concerned about Yerry Mina’s concentration & temperament – both really suspect over the last couple of games & have cost us. Really disappointing fortnight. #COYB #UTFT

It’s difficult to choose a defensive pairing at the moment. Just because we paid 28M for Mina doesn’t give him a right to start. Mina was shocking today very poor performance, looked nervous in possession and his positional play at times was woeful. #EFC

Frustrating. Went there expecting nothing, sat back, conceded poor goals, and could still have scored three. Poor set-up by Silva. Mina awful. Gylfi isn’t a midfielder. Lookman must start. #efc
