Glasgow Rangers saw their Scottish Premiership season end in defeat on Sunday afternoon when they went down 2-1 at Kilmarnock, and after the match their fans were heavily critical of a defender who featured in the game.

The Gers headed to Rugby Park not playing for anything of significance, while their opponents were looking for a victory which would guarantee them European football next season, and it showed throughout the encounter.

Rangers were behind inside the first 10 minutes when veteran midfielder Chris Burke put the home side ahead, and although they got back into the match in the second half with Alfredo Morelos scoring his 30th goal of the season, the Glasgow giants were undone at the death.

With the game heading towards injury time it appeared as though the Gers would leave with a point, but in the last minute Kilmarnock won a penalty which was coolly converted to send their fans ecstatic, and leave Steven Gerrard’s men wondering what could have been.

That has been the story for much of the season for Rangers and their supporters, and they will be hoping to see a lot more from their players next term, as they look to close the gap on rivals Celtic and push for major silverware once again.

One man who the Gers fans will not be wanting to see is Borna Barisic. The Croatian, signed last summer after impressing against the Ibrox outfit in a Europa League tie, hasn’t really pulled up trees in Glasgow in his first campaign at the club.

That has not gone unnoticed by the Rangers support base, and many of them took to social media after the defeat at Rugby Park to let their feelings about the defender be known, and very little of their messages had any positive connotations about them.
