Reliable Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has revealed that Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson could be available this summer, which has excited Leeds United fans at the prospect of his return.

The Elland Road outfit are set for a summer revamp after the Whites missed out on the Championship play-offs, with a host of players seemingly set to leave.

Leeds fans will hope that full owner in waiting Andrea Radrizzani will inject some much-needed transfer funds into the club and allow Garry Monk to bring in the players he wants.

Howson is a product of the Yorkshire club’s youth system and made 185 league appearances for his boyhood club over the space of six years in the Whites first team.

The 28-year-old left Leeds in 2012 to join Norwich, but as can be seen below, could well be available for transfer this summer.

The lack of a proven goalscoring midfielder has been something that has blighted Monk’s team this season, with an over-reliance on Chris Wood to provide the firepower.

The Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to express their desire for Howson to return, with the best tweets below:
