According to The Record, Football pundit Chris Sutton has suggested that Celtic should extend the contract of veteran Scott Brown.
The 33-year-old’s contract at Parkhead is set to end this summer and he has yet to decide his future. He has been linked with a potential move to Australia.
Callum McGregor made the most of the opportunities given to him during the injury absence of Brown. Since the veteran made his return to action, he has yet to win back the position and is for the time being, more or less a squad rotation player.
Surely, this will not be good news to Brown who has been a key figure for Celtic for more than 10-years. Despite the fact that Brown is approaching the latter years of his career, he impressed during the Hoops 2-1 defeat against Salzburg in the Europa League on Thursday.
Celtic have proven that they will be able to play well without Brown, however Sutton has suggested that they should extend his contract.
As reported by The Daily Record, he said: “If there’s one thing to come out of this week, it should silence these people who are suggesting Scott Brown is finished at Parkhead,
“Celtic simply must put an end to this talk about going to Melbourne and get him to sign a new deal immediately.”
