Newcastle United will welcome Aleksandar Mitrovic back from suspension for their Premier League match against Liverpool on Sunday, but they will be without a pair of defenders for the contest.
Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara remain on the sidelines for the Magpies as they continue to spend time out with their injuries, the club confirmed on their official Twitter page.
The left-sided pair have played one match between them so far this season, and their knocks left Newcastle with a void to fill down that side of their set up.
Mitrovic has missed the last three matches, and while it could be argued that he was not missed for the victories against Swansea City and Stoke City, he would have been a handy option at some point in the defeat at Brighton last weekend.
Rafael Benitez will also be able to call on fit again defender Florian Lejeune for the match against his former club. The Frenchman has recovered from an ankle injury and is set to take his place in the squad, although he may not start the game.
The Spaniard has other players pushing for recalls to the starting XI. They include Jonjo Shelvey who came off the bench in the defeat at Brighton last week.
The midfielder will be looking to feature against his former club and is hoping for the chance to start for the first time since the opening game of the season, a match he was shown a red card in shortly after half-time.
Benitez will be looking for his side to get back on track after their run of three successive wins were ended at the Amex Stadium last weekend. That defeat saw them drop to tenth in the Premier League table, but a high profile Sunday afternoon win would see the Magpies put that loss behind them.
