Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has attempted to silence the rumours about Dominic Solanke plying his services at Ibrox this season, stating there is no truth in the Liverpool striker moving north of the border.
Speculation in the press has suggested the former Reds midfielder could raid his old club to bring the centre forward to Scotland – but this is not the case.
“It’s speculation, it’s just speculation,” Rangers boss Gerrard told the club’s official website.
The Scottish transfer window does not shut until 31 August – in line with major European leagues in Spain, Germany, Italy and France. However, Premier League clubs will be more reluctant to let go of players as they are now unable to sign replacements after their window closed earlier than usual on 9 August.
Rangers could do with one more attacking player and the Liverpudlian coach will no doubt be looking to bolster his squad before the end of August.
Alfredo Morelos will now be available for selection on Sunday against St Mirren after his red card was rescinded.
