Wolverhampton Wanderers picked up a useful draw at Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and after the match their supporters pleaded with those in charge to make their move for a key man in the contest.

Wolves would have secretly fancied their chances heading into the match. They have a good record against the bigger sides in the top flight this term, and the Blues had been on duty in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Few would have expected Wanderers to have been as comfortable as they were for much of the contest though. For the majority of the afternoon Chelsea were made to look toothless, as Wanderers soaked up any pressure that was placed on them, before counter attacking for their lives.

It was a plan that worked too as they took the lead shortly into the second half, when Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota combined in a move which the former finished off, much to the delight of the Wolves fans behind the goal.

It looked like Wanderers were going to secure a famous win to take into their FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United next weekend, but some gloss was taken from their day when Eden Hazard fired in an injury time equaliser.

Despite that late blow, Wolves’ centre-forward Jimenez once again shone on a big stage. The Mexico international, on loan from Benfica, has been attracting plenty of attention in his time at Molineux, and fans of the Black Country outfit have started begging owners of the club to fork out and sign the star attacker permanently.

Wanderers supporters have taken the striker to their hearts, and want their new hero to be at the club for the longer term. There were floods of posts from them on social media regarding the situation after the full time whistle had blown at the Bridge.
