Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a £40 million move for Bournemouth star Nathan Ake, according to a report published by The Sun.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best Premier League players outside the top six sides. Ake has been a hit for Bournemouth since he joined the club permanently from Chelsea during the summer of 2017.
He went on to play 33 times in the Premier League for the Cherries last season and scored three goals during that time, including one against Tottenham.
Spurs are expected to reinforce their side this summer. The club once again exceeded expectations this past season as they secured a top-four finish and also surprisingly reached the Champions League final, which they lost against Liverpool.
It is quite clear that Tottenham do need to bolster their side this summer if they want to stand a good chance of finally ending their trophy drought next season. They may also have to prepare for the potential departures of Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen this summer.
The ten-times capped Netherlands international Ake is certainly a player who should be playing in the Champions League and would be a good coup for Tottenham. He has the potential to thrive under Mauricio Pochettino and is also young and so could go on to serve Spurs for many years to come.
Tottenham must go all-out to secure his signature this summer.
