Southampton are set to play a Premier League fixture against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with the south coast outfit hoping to cause an upset in London.
The Saints are currently in the relegation zone following their last Premier League game, which was a defeat against Cardiff City.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side will need to aim to get something out of the game if they want to move out of the drop zone.
Arsenal will however go into the game as favourites considering that they have a better side on paper, who are playing better football as well. Unai Emery’s side will also go all out for the three points as they look to break into the top four.
Southampton can at least take heart from the fact that they are unbeaten during their past four Premier League away games, having won two and drawn the other two.
It was also the Saints who ended Arsenal’s 22 game unbeaten streak earlier on this season after they started off life very well under the management of Emery.
However, Southampton have not won during any of their past 19 away Premier League games played against the Gunners, as reported by Sky Sports.
The report also added that Mario Lemina and striker Danny Ings are unlikely to pay for the Saints due to injuries.
The absence of the latter in particular is a big blow for Hasenhuttl considering that he is the club’s leading scorer this season, having so far netted seven goals.
However, Stuart Armstrong and Michael Obafemi could possibly play during the match.
