Liverpool lost their 100% record when they were held 1-1 by Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, but after the match their fans were full of praise for their goalscorer on the day.
The Reds were looking to break a record of successive wins against their bitter rivals, and you just felt that pressure got to them, as they gave off a bit of a flat performance, which was a surprise given the magnitude of the contest, and the time they had to build up to this one over the international period.
Liverpool began the game very sloppily, second to a lot of things and not really creating much in the absence of Mo Salah, who missed the game through injury.
Although the Reds huffed and had the odd sniff in the first-half, few inside Old Trafford were surprised when Marcus Rashford gave the home side the lead, despite it looking like Divock Origi was fouled in the build up.
All eyes were then on Liverpool after the break to see what sort of a response they could muster, and for much of it, the answer was not much of one.
However as champion sides often do, the Reds stayed in the game, and as time ticked down, substitute Adam Lallana ghosted in at the back post to rescue a point for the Premier League leaders.
The goal was a huge moment for the Liverpool midfielder, who has had a horrendous time of it with injuries recently, and many supporters of the Merseyside club were quick to acknowledge that on social media after the game.
When fit, Lallana can be a key figure for the Reds, something else their fans picked up on when they were posting their encouraging messages regarding the England international.
