Rio Ferdinand praised Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ryan Sessegnon on BT Sport (7:39pm, December 11, 2019).
The Manchester United legend believes that Sessegnon – who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, has huge potential, has a lot of potential.
The former England international central defender also suggested that the 19-year-old would have been frustrated at his lack of playing time at Spurs so far this season due to injury and fitness issues.
Ferdinand said about Sessegnon on BT Sport (7:39pm, December 11, 2019): “Huge potential. He’s a player England have pinned their hopes on, he’d have been highlighted coming through.
“He would have been so frustrated because he was a mainstay in the Fulham team, and then he’s picked up and injury and it’s been a stop start beginning to his Spurs career.
“There’s no doubting this kid has got potential. He’ll have opportunities to show what he’s capable of.”
Champions League debut
Sessegnon started for Tottenham against Bayern Munich away from home at the Allianz Arena in Germany in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
The teenager played well and scored in the first half, and although he faded away in the second period, he has a very good debut in the Champions League.
The youngster will now hope to get more playing time for Spurs in the coming weeks and months, and make himself an important player in head coach Jose Mourinho’s side.
