Glasgow Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has delivered some positive news on Kieran Tierney, stating that the influential Bhoys defender should be available against Red Bull Salzburg this Thursday night.
The Scotland international sat out the Hoops’ dominant 5-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday, with the left-back struggling with a muscular injury currently.
Celtic need a positive result against the Austrian outfit in midweek to secure a place in the Europa League knockout rounds and will be boosted by Tierney’s potential availability.
As quoted by the official Twitter account, Rodgers has stated that the Parkhead youth-team graduate was not risked against Kilmarnock, despite wanting to play, and as such should be in the reckoning for the European tie.
Celtic have had an inconsistent season by their sky high standards but have ominously clicked into gear over the last couple of weeks.
The Bhoys faithful will hope that a positive performance and result on Thursday night can keep the momentum going and see the Scottish giants in the next round of the competition.
