SkySports pundit thinks 21-year-old is a boost for Leeds United

David Prutton has suggested to The Yorkshire Evening Post that Tyler Roberts will be an important player for Leeds United in the coming weeks.

The former Leeds midfielder, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the return of Roberts back from injury and him being among the goals is very positive for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Prutton told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Roberts: “Tyler appears to have slightly more versatility to him than perhaps Patrick does.

”In working his way back to full fitness after injury and coming on to score two goals, he can’t have done much more to get a starting berth. But it’s good for Leeds to know they have got that in reserve on the bench.

“We know how imperative these last nine games are going to be and the squad appear to be in a good position.

“They have worked their way from what was seen as a perceived blip with “questions being asked of them to answer them emphatically and they look in rude health.”

Stats

Roberts, who can operate as a striker, winger or attacking midfielder, has had injury issues this season, but the 21-year-old is now back fit and is among the goals.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Roberts made 20 starts and eight substitute appearances in the league for the Whites, scoring three goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Leeds are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 71 points from 37 matches, a point clear of second-placed West Bromwich Albion.
