Wolves are reportedly interested in signing Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, according to a report which was published by Sky Sports.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants in to bring in a new midfielder before the end of the transfer window.
The Molineux club want to make an impact in Europe next season and to do so, Wolves will need to bolster their side further – even though they were impressive in the Premier League last season.
Southampton enforcer Lemina has been linked with a number of clubs, with his future looking to be away from the St Mary’s Stadium.
The report added that Wolves also considered signing Boubakare Soumare from Lille but decided against signing him after they were informed that they would have to pay £40 million for his services.
The 25-year-old Lemina made 21 Premier League appearances for Southampton last season and went on to score one goal as well as record one assist.
A move to Wolves is likely to be appealing to the Southampton man at this stage of his career as it would offer him an opportunity to play in the Europa League.
In addition to making a statement in Europe next season via the Europa League, Wolves will also be looking to potentially break into the top six of the Premier League.
They churned out some impressive displays last season and established themselves as one of the best sides outside the top six.
They could improve even further next season if Nuno carries out the good work that he is doing.
For Southampton, the fans will demand a quality replacement should Lemina be sold.
