Former Arsenal and Celtic forward Charlie Nicholas has predicted on Skysports.com that Chelsea will win the Premier League title this season.
The former Scotland international has predicted Manchester City to finish second, and believes that North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal will end up third and fourth respectively in the standings.
“I’m going to stick with the current four but I have to admit I’m really, really sketchy about Arsenal falling out,” Nicholas wrote on Skysports.com. “If I’m being honest with myself then Arsenal are in real danger.”
A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: Chelsea 1st, Manchester City 2nd Tottenham 3rd, Arsenal 4th.”
Chelsea are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 59 points from 24 matches.
The Blues are as many as nine points clear of second-placed Tottenham, who are a point clear of third-placed Manchester City and three clear of Arsenal, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.
Liverpool and Manchester United are also in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
While Jurgen Klopp’s side are fifth with 46 points, Jose Mourinho’s United are sixth with 45.
