Manchester City are considering signing Leicester City centre-backs Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu, according to Sky Sports.
The Foxes pair have been one of the best defensive combinations in the Premier League to date this season.
Evans and Soyuncu have played a major role in Leicester’s impressive run of form so far in 2019-20.
The Foxes currently find themselves in second place on the Premier League standings and certainly top four contenders this season.
In contrast to Leicester, champions City have been underwhelming by their standards.
They look to be a shadow of the team that they were during the past two seasons under Pep Guardiola and have so far not been on par with Liverpool, who look set to win the title this term.
As things stand, the Citizens find themselves in fourth position on the Premier League standings – nine points behind Liverpool and one behind Leicester.
Guardiola’s defence in particular has been below par this season. The club looks to have made a massive error in not signing a replacement for former captain Vincent Kompany, who left the club last summer.
City were strongly linked with Harry Maguire but he ended up leaving Leicester for Manchester United last summer.
City have had to play Fernandinho out of position and in a defensive role this season due to an injury to Aymeric Laporte.
It remains to be seen whether the Manchester club’s financial power could convince Leicester to part with one of their under-rated defensive stars in January.
