Scottish champions Celtic saw the undefeated start to their title defence end on Sunday afternoon, when they went down 2-0 away to Livingston, and after the match their fans were critical of a key man on social media.
The Bhoys headed into the weekend off the back of a morale boosting revenge win over Cluj in the Europa League on Thursday night, but there were early signs that the effort put in to achieve that victory had taken its toll for the league encounter.
Celtic were flat throughout the contest against the Scottish Premiership strugglers, offering nothing like the controlled and disciplined performance that was required to see them come out on top in the game.
Their chances of winning the match were not helped when Bhoys top scorer Ryan Christie was dismissed for a horrible lunge midway through the first half, and although Neil Lennon’s men got to half-time scoreless, what was to follow was inevitable.
Livingston took the lead shortly after the break, and although Celtic tried everything in terms of throwing attacking personnel onto the pitch to try and rescue something from the game, they were put out of their misery late on when the home side doubled their lead.
If that wasn’t bad enough for the Bhoys, they then had to watch on later in the day and see their rivals Glasgow Rangers win and take top spot ahead of them, going into the international break.
After the match their fans took to social media to reflect on the red card given to Christie, with many supporters surprisingly choosing to criticise the attacking talent for the challenge, and how costly it was to his team’s chances of coming out on top at the Almondvale Stadium, despite the excellent start to the season he has made.
Here are some of their messages:
Hibs ok 2 plenty shouts I dunno I never got to see them but we have no 1 to blame here except for ryan christie he let us down today because of an idiotic challenge

I’m Ryan Christie’s biggest fan but he’s got away with some naughty tackles this season esp early on. Lennon needs to have a word with him.

Abysmal performance by Celtic. Toothless and hopeless. Ryan Christie should be made to walk back to Glasgow. Could do with another Adrian Sprott popping up for Hamilton Accies at Ibrox later this afternoon . . .

Ajer/Jullien/Forster etc getting pelters, fair enough, we've been grim.
Ten men for an hour after Thursday night though? Rough.
For me the player who has let Celtic down badly today is Ryan Christie. Love the guy but moment of madness that has cost us hugely.
