Sheffield United play against Aston Villa in a Championship encounter on Friday.
The game will be a crucial one for the Blades and it is one in which they should go all out for a win. A victory could possibly take them into the automatic promotion positions depending upon how other results go. As things stand, they are three points behind second place Leeds United who trail leaders Norwich City on goal difference.
Sheffield United can be confident of recording a win especially as they managed a resounding 4-1 victory the last time that the two sides met in Championship competition, back in September. Despite this however, Villa have dominated games between the two sides at home and have only lost one of their past several second-tier games at home played against the Blades, as reported by BBC.
The biggest threat whom Wilder’s men will need to contain is Red-hot on loan Villains striker Tammy Abraham. Despite Aston Villa having struggled for consistency so far this season, the 21-year-old has been in superb form and is a danger to any side in the Championship. He has so far scored an impressive 19 League goals from 23 games in the second-tier.
If the Blades defence can contain the in-form forward, they could stand a good chance of getting something from this game.
Chris Wilder’s side have few injury concerns for the game and could just opt to rotate some players who may be tired as they look to secure an automatic promotion spot which is a realistic target for them at this point.
