Rising Serie A star Franck Kessie has admitted that he aspires to play for Manchester United in the Premier League one day.

The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international is highly rated in Italy and is being tipped to become a household name in years to come.

Kessie is on the books of Atalanta, but rose to prominence last season while on loan at Serie B side Cesena, where he was a virtual ever-present.

The African teenager has returned to Atalanta this season and has made an immediate impression for the Italian top-flight side.

He has played three Serie A games this season and incredibly has scored in every match, with a brace against Lazio last time out taking his tally to four goals in three matches.

Kessie has stated that he has grand plans about where his career will take him and admits that stepping out for the Red Devils in the Premier League is a future wish.

“My idols are Yaya Toure and Essien. I was told that I have to work very hard to reach a big level,” Kessie told Sky Italia, published in English by ESPN.

“Now I want to learn Italian tactics but in the future, I like the Premier League. I’d like to play for Manchester United. I don’t know if [Jose] Mourinho will be there, but Manchester United has always been my favourite team.”

Kessie’s agent also revealed earlier this month that a move to Sunderland was agreed, only for it to fall through at the last minute.
