Newcastle United are in pole position to sign Salomon Rondon from West Bromwich Albion after Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled out of the race to sign the striker Salomon Rondon, according to Football Insider.
Rondon spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Premier League club Newcastle from Championship outfit West Brom.
According to WhoScored, the Venezuela international striker made 30 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Magpies, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in the process.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle want to make Rondon’s loan deal permanent in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Rafael Benitez’s side are now in position to land the 29-year-old striker due to Wolves deciding to pull out of the race to land the former Rubin Kazan and Zenit Saint Petersburg star.
The report has also claimed of interest in the striker from West Ham United, but it is Newcastle who are leading the race for the West Brom star.
