Inter Milan are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.
The report suggests that Antonio Conte’s side want to sign N’Golo Kante from Chelsea and that there is belief that the Blues may be open to selling the 2018 World Cup winner as he may not be ideally suited to the vision that Frank Lampard is aiming to build at the club.
Given that he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the wold, Kante will not be cheap to any club that wants him – and the Italian newspaper suggest that Tottenham’s Ndombele could well be an alternative.
Since moving to Spurs from Lyon last summer, Ndombele has struggled to live up to expectations.
As such, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham side could be open to selling him in order to raise funds for squad development.
The North Londoners need to bolster their side. Tottenham have been a shadow of the team to the one that excited the masses under Mauricio Pochettino.
The report added that Spurs may be open to the deal if it involves them landing Milan Skriniar or Marcelo Brozovic in a swap deal.
Tottenham’s midfield and defence has been a big concern this season with the attack carrying the side for much of the season.
As such, Brozovic or Skriniar could well help to significantly strengthen the side ahead of next season.
Tottenham beat Leicester 3-0 in their last game and have been in improved form in recent fixtures.
